Community rules
The short version
Checked by a person
Every page, and every change to it, is checked by one of Lunara’s moderators before it shows.
Nothing for upvotes
Upvotes and reviews earn nothing, and no server may offer anything for them.
No names on reviews
A review shows how long its writer had been a member and the month, never who wrote it.
Paying never moves the list
Nothing a server buys from Lunara moves it up or down the list.
Community pages
Any server that plays Lunara can have a page on lunarabot.gg, made by its admins from their server’s dashboard. Every page is free, and every page is listed the same way. A page is for a Discord server where people play Lunara together.
Checked by a person, every time
Before a page is listed, and after every change to it, one of Lunara’s moderators checks its name, its words and every link on it. Nothing on a page goes live without that check, and no setting switches it off. While a change waits, the live page stays as it was; if the change isn’t approved, the server’s admins read why on their dashboard. Lunara’s moderators are a small team: checks usually take up to 3 days. A moderator who helps run a server never decides anything about its page.
When a server changes its name or icon in Discord, its page keeps the last ones Lunara’s moderators approved until they have checked the new ones. A page shows when its server was renamed or changed owner, with dates and never a person.
Two views
Pages rated General are in the main directory. Pages rated Mature themes show only in its search, to people who choose to see them, and on their own pages (see Content ratings). A server Discord marks age-restricted, or one labelled 18+ NSFW, never appears in the main directory, its search or Discord: Lunara shows them only in a separate NSFW view (see 18+ NSFW servers). While that view is switched off, as it is now: Lunara doesn’t list age-restricted servers.
What Lunara doesn’t list
A page is refused, and a listed page is taken down, for any of these:
- gambling or a casino, betting with real money, dating, drugs or alcohol;
- buying or selling accounts or servers, selling Robux, Nitro or server boosts, or “free Nitro”;
- crypto or trading groups, cheats and hacks, and scams;
- servers that exist to advertise other servers, and other server directories;
- servers that reward joining, upvoting or reviewing;
- anything made for children under 13;
- anything that sexualises minors, intimate images shared without consent, and anything illegal or against Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines;
- sexual content, on any page: an 18+ NSFW server is labelled, never described.
What a page can’t say
- Nothing for upvotes, reviews, joining or inviting. Pages can’t offer anything for upvotes, reviews, joining or inviting: no roles, giveaways, prizes, Nitro or money. That includes a role for upvoting, joining or reviewing, XP, VIP and raffles.
- No asking for a rating. Pages can’t ask for a particular rating, or ask only happy members to review.
- No “official” without a badge. Words like “official”, “verified”, “partner”, “staff” and “support team” need Lunara’s Verified badge, or Discord’s own Verified or Partnered status.
- No links in the words. Links go only in the page’s own list of links, and a person checks every one. A link that later leads somewhere unsuitable is taken off.
- No contact details, prices or passwords. Text on lunarabot.gg can’t ask anyone to send or wait for a DM. Text on lunarabot.gg can’t name a price, a plan or an upgrade: members never see those. Text on lunarabot.gg can’t mention passwords, codes or card details: that is how scams start.
- No sexual words. Lunara doesn’t show sexual words on lunarabot.gg, on any page.
A page whose name looks like a better-known one, such as Lunara’s own, is held until a moderator has compared the two. A fan server whose name holds a well-known name is shown with the label “Fan community: not the official … server”.
Why a page or a change may not be approved
- Not suitable for everyone (13+)
- Breaks the content rules
- Offers something for upvotes, reviews or joining, or asks for a rating
- Looks like Lunara’s or another brand’s page
- Gambling, betting, dating, drugs, crypto, cheats, or selling accounts, Robux, Nitro or boosts
- Advertises other servers or is a server directory
- Shows a real person’s face
- Has links, invites or contact details
- A link leads to sexual or unsuitable content
- The invite or links don’t work
- Something else (see the note)
Content ratings
Every page says what it is like: General, or Mature themes for themes meant for adults that aren’t sexual, such as horror or strong language, with up to 4 of these descriptors: Strong language, Horror themes, Dark humour, Serious topics, Politics and news, Competitive trash talk and Voice-chat heavy. A server with channels Discord marks 18+ also carries “Has 18+ channels (age-gated by Discord)” and is rated Mature themes unless a moderator decides General fits. Pages rated Mature themes show in search, to people who choose to see them, and on their own pages, never on the main list, tag pages or shelves.
If a page’s rating is wrong, report it. When Lunara’s team agrees, the rating is set right and locked for 90 days; a second time within a year hides the page for 30 days.
Safety settings
Each page shows the server’s own Discord settings, as Discord reports them: its verification level, its rules, whether moderators need two-factor sign-in, AutoMod, Discord’s image filter, raid alerts and any 18+ channels. In search, “Higher safety settings” means all five of these: a verification level of Medium or higher, moderators who need two-factor sign-in, Discord’s image filter on for everyone, a rules channel, and Discord’s AutoMod on. No setting makes a server safe on its own.
Join links
Lunara checks a page’s invite each time someone presses Join, and stops the button when the invite leads to a different server. A page whose invite has not worked for 7 days leaves the directory until its admins fix it. A server’s campaign links count visits and joins; they may never run an invite contest or reward anyone for joining. A server that does has its links switched off, and its admins read why on their dashboard.
Hiding and removing a page
- Removing a review or hiding a page from Lunara’s moderation channel takes two of Lunara’s moderators: one proposes, a different one confirms. Lunara’s team can act alone, from its own console.
- A page is hidden automatically, until a moderator looks, when 3 different people with Discord accounts at least 30 days old, on at least 2 different networks, report it within 7 days for hate or harassment, a scam or a fake, a server made for children under 13 or something illegal. It is not hidden that way again for 14 days after a moderator puts it back. Reviews are never hidden by reports alone.
- A page that offers something for upvotes, reviews or joining loses its upvotes from the last 30 days, takes a strike, and is hidden for 30 days. At 2 strikes: Lunara removed this page from the directory. Strikes stay with the server, even if Lunara leaves it and comes back. A strike on a page that is already hidden for good leaves that hide as it is.
- Admins can unlist their page at any time: it and its reviews are kept, and they can list it again. Only Lunara’s team deletes a page, when its server asks, and 30 days after Lunara leaves the server.
Every decision says why
Every decision about a page, a review, a reply or a report comes with its reasons: on the dashboard for a server’s admins, on Your reviews for the person who wrote a review, and on the receipt page for whoever reported. Lunara never sends any of it by DM. If you think a decision is wrong, email support@lunarabot.gg. You can also take it to the courts in your country.
How this list is ordered
- Lunara’s own server is pinned first. It’s run by Lunara.
- Every other server is placed by four things: upvotes in the last 30 days (35%), its place in last week’s Server League, scored on raid damage, days played and active players (35%), its reviews (20%), and a small lift for servers in their first 30 days on the list (10%).
- Paying is not part of this order. Nothing a server buys from Lunara moves it up or down. Sponsored servers also appear in a separate row marked “Ad”. Some communities pay Lunara to decorate their card and page, which can make the card stand out; it never changes its place.
- An upvote counts for 30 days, so nothing starts again from zero on the 1st of the month. Upvotes from automated or bought accounts, or given for rewards, are removed.
Changes to this order are dated in the changelog.
How each part is worked out
- Upvotes in the last 30 days count on a scale that flattens out, so the thousandth upvote counts for far less than the tenth, and anything past 1,000 counts the same. A server’s all-time total shows on its page and is never part of the order.
- Last week’s Server League is where the server placed: raid damage per active player (50%), how many days its active players played (30%) and how many active players it has (20%). Never pulls or collections.
- Reviews are a smoothed average: every server starts as if it had 10 reviews of 3 stars, so one five-star review can’t outrank twenty good ones.
- New on the list is a lift that fades over a server’s first 30 days, counted from when it was first listed. Leaving and coming back never resets it.
- Ties go to the server that has had Lunara longest, then to the name.
Nothing about you changes the order: not who you are, where you are or what you looked at. In search you can sort by other things you choose; “Best rated” there uses the same smoothed average over the last 12 months, and needs 10 reviews.
Changes to the order
No changes yet: the order above is the one the directory opened with.
Upvotes
Anyone with a Discord account at least 30 days old can upvote a community once every 12 hours. Upvotes earn nothing, for you or for the server: they help people find good communities. An upvote counts towards a community’s place for 30 days. Upvotes that look automated may be held back and not counted.
Under each count, a page shows its upvotes counted in the last 30 days, how many were removed after checks, and its all-time total. “Removed after checks” counts only upvotes a person at Lunara confirmed should not count (see How we count).
When upvotes look organised
Every night Lunara looks for groups of accounts that upvote the same servers together. That only raises a flag: a person decides. The first time it is confirmed, the upvotes from the last 30 days are removed, a notice says so on the page for 30 days, and the server can ask for a review within 7 days. A second time within a year keeps the page out of the directory for 90 days; a third time removes it. Each step comes with its reasons on the server’s dashboard.
Blocked accounts
Lunara blocks an account from upvoting, reviewing and reporting on lunarabot.gg if it belongs to a child under 13, whose reviews and upvotes are then removed (apart from what an undecided report or a review ban still needs, kept without their Discord ID), or if it used the emergency report reasons for something that wasn’t an emergency. A blocked account is told why on its next try and at the top of Your reviews, with how to challenge it.
Reviews and replies
- You can review a server once you’ve been a member for 7 days and your Discord account is at least 30 days old. Lunara checks both with Discord when you post.
- One review per server. Give 1 to 5 stars and say why (20 to 600 characters). You can edit it once a day or delete it at any time. After deleting, you can review that server again after 30 days.
- Write about your own time in the server.
- You can’t review a server you run or help run. That covers owners, admins and moderators.
- Nobody may give or promise you anything for a review, or for changing one: no roles, coins, perks, giveaway entries or money. If someone offers, report it.
- Servers may not ask for a particular rating, or ask only happy members to review.
- No personal information, links, invites, slurs, threats or sexual content.
- Server owners can reply once, in public. They can’t edit, hide, reorder or remove reviews.
- Lunara removes a review only when it breaks these rules, whether it’s good or bad. A server owner disagreeing isn’t a reason. Anyone can report a review.
- If you leave the server later, your review stays, and you can still edit or delete it. See all your reviews on Your reviews.
- When a server gets 5 or more reviews in a day, or 3 or more from members who joined in the last month, new reviews of every rating wait up to 72 hours for Lunara’s moderators.
- Your Discord name is never shown: your review says how long you’d been a member and the month you wrote it.
How we check reviews: each one comes from a Discord account that had been in the server for at least 7 days when it was first written, and from someone who doesn’t help run it. Removing a review takes two of Lunara’s moderators, or Lunara’s team. We don’t check anything else, and reviews are members’ opinions, not Lunara’s.
Reviews and replies can’t carry links or invites, however they are written, or contact details, and can’t ask readers to get in touch or offer them anything. A review removed because it was fake, or because something was offered for it, means its writer can never review that server again.
Replies
One public reply per review, up to 300 characters. Be civil. Don’t name or describe the reviewer, don’t threaten them, don’t offer anything to change the review, and don’t ask for a better rating. Replies follow the same rules as reviews.
Replies come from the server’s owner or someone with Manage Server. Lunara’s team never replies as a server.
Why a review is removed
Only for one of these reasons, the same whether the review is good or bad:
- It isn’t from a real member, or it’s fake
- Something was offered for it
- It shares personal information
- It’s hateful, harassing or threatening
- It’s sexual or explicit
- It’s spam or an advert
- It isn’t about this server
- It’s illegal
- It’s discriminatory
- It’s clearly false or misleading
On an 18+ NSFW server’s reviews only: “The reviewer is under 18”.
Reporting
If someone is in danger right now, contact your local emergency number first. Then report it here.
Anyone signed in can report a page, a review or a reply with the Report button on it. Anyone at all, signed in or not, can report by email, below. The server and the person reported are never told who reported.
What you can report
Emergencies, first in every report form:
- A child may be at risk
- Threat to someone’s life or safety
- Intimate image shared without consent
- Sexual content
One report of these hides the page’s pictures and words at once while Lunara’s team looks. Please use them only for real emergencies.
A page, then:
- Hate or harassment
- A scam or a fake
- Not really a Lunara server
- Offers something for upvotes, reviews or joining, or asks for 5 stars
- Gambling, betting, dating, drugs, crypto, cheats, or selling accounts, Robux or Nitro
- Made for children under 13
- It’s illegal
- The content rating is wrong
- Something else
A review or a reply, then:
- It isn’t from a real member, or it’s fake
- Something was offered for it
- It shares someone’s personal information
- It’s hateful, harassing or bullying
- It’s spam or an advert
- It isn’t about this server
- It’s illegal
On an 18+ NSFW server’s page, reviews and replies, “Sexual content” is replaced by these: “This person is under 18” and “Explicit words on this page”.
The emergency lane
One report of a child at risk, a threat to someone’s life or safety, an intimate image shared without consent or sexual content, from a Discord account at least 30 days old, pauses the page at once: its pictures and words are hidden while Lunara’s team looks, and only Lunara’s team can undo it. Nothing is deleted, so nothing is lost as evidence. On a review or a reply, the report holds just that review or reply. Please use these only for real emergencies: an account that uses them for something else is blocked from reporting.
Suspected child sexual abuse material is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States, never just deleted. An intimate image shared without consent is removed within 48 hours of a valid request.
Receipts
A report from a signed-in account gets a receipt code, such as MW-7K3Q-2P9X, shown once. Check it any time at lunarabot.gg/report/ followed by the code: it says Received, Being checked or Decided, and the rule it was decided under, and nothing about who reported. Receipts are kept for 90 days after a decision.
How quickly
Lunara’s published targets, with the real times beside them. The real time is the middle one of the last 90 days’ decisions.
| Reports | Our target | Last 90 days |
|---|---|---|
| Most reports | Decided within 3 days | None decided in the last 90 days |
| Urgent and emergency reports | Decided within 24 hours | None decided in the last 90 days |
| Intimate images | Removed within 48 hours | None decided in the last 90 days |
Reporting by email
Anyone, signed in or not, can email a report to support@lunarabot.gg. These two links open an email with the questions written in; only the address of the page is filled in, and you add the rest. This is also how to send a notice of illegal content. Each emailed report gets a reply to say it arrived, then another with what Lunara decided, why, and how to challenge it.
Every community page carries both links with its own address filled in. If you’re reporting child sexual abuse, you don’t have to give your name or email.
Copyright
If something on a page uses your work without permission, email support@lunarabot.gg with what it is, where it is, and how to reach you. Lunara takes it down, and removes the page of a server that does it again and again.
How we count
Every number on a community page, and in a server’s own analytics, is counted one way, written once, here. Lunara never knows who visited: the counts are totals for each page and each day. Every number carries a mark saying where it comes from, and each has been counted this way since 5 October 2026 unless it says otherwise.
- Page visitsMeasured by Lunara
One visit is a page of a server opened in a browser. The same visitor opening the same page again within 30 minutes counts once.
Bots, crawlers and link previews are left out, by their browser name and by hosting networks. A page loaded in the background and never opened counts nothing. In a breakdown, a number under 10 reads “Fewer than 10”.
- VisitorsMeasured by Lunara
Different visitors on one day, told apart by a code made from the network address and browser with a key that changes every day at midnight UTC and is deleted after 48 hours. Lunara never stores an address.
Approximate: the website counts each visitor once per day per machine, so a restart, or more than 20,000 visitors at once, can count someone twice. Bots, crawlers and link previews are left out, by their browser name and by hosting networks. In a breakdown, a number under 10 reads “Fewer than 10”.
- Times shownMeasured by Lunara
A server’s card counts as shown when at least half of it is on screen for one second, once per visitor per day, credited to the first place that showed it.
Approximate, for the same reason as visitors. Bots, crawlers and link previews are left out, by their browser name and by hosting networks. A page loaded in the background and never opened counts nothing. In a breakdown, a number under 10 reads “Fewer than 10”.
- Join pressesMeasured by Lunara
A press of Join on lunarabot.gg. A Join press is not a join: the person may not finish joining in Discord.
Bots, crawlers and link previews are left out, by their browser name and by hosting networks. A press Discord’s preview makes in the background counts nothing. In a breakdown, a number under 10 reads “Fewer than 10”.
- Joins countedFrom Discord
How many times Lunara’s own invite links for this page were used, as Discord counts them, read once an hour. Only servers that let Lunara count joins have this number. Lunara never learns who joined.
Other invites are ignored. Someone who joins and leaves again still counts. In a breakdown, a number under 10 reads “Fewer than 10”.
- Upvotes, last 30 daysMembers say
Upvotes counted in the last 30 days, a window that moves forward every day. Nothing starts again from zero on the 1st of the month.
Upvotes that look automated may be held back and not counted. Counted this way since 25 October 2026.
- Upvotes all-timeMembers say
Every counted upvote a server’s page has had. It is shown on the page and is never part of the order.
Upvotes removed after checks are not in it. Counted this way since 25 October 2026.
- Removed after checksMeasured by Lunara
Upvotes from the last 30 days that a person at Lunara confirmed should not count, for example after a check found organised or bought upvotes.
Upvotes held automatically and later released are not counted here. Counted this way since 25 October 2026.
- ReviewsMembers say
Published reviews from members who had been in the server at least 7 days when they first wrote. The average shows from 5 reviews.
“Last 12 months” and “Best rated” use a smoothed average, so one review cannot swing it.
- PlaceMeasured by Lunara
Where the server sits in the main list or a tag, from upvotes in the last 30 days, last week’s Server League, reviews and newness. Paying is not part of this order.
Worked out every hour; the history keeps the place at midnight UTC. Counted this way since 25 October 2026.
- ActivityMeasured by Lunara
Established Lunara players who played in the server on at least two days of a week, as the Server League counts them, shown as a band over four weeks.
A band moves only after two weeks across the line; a sudden jump waits for a person to check it.
- VoiceFrom Discord
How many people are usually in the server’s open voice channels in the evening, from an hourly count of channels everyone can see, shown as a band.
Only channels @everyone can see; no names are read.
- Lunara newcomers who came backMeasured by Lunara
Players new to Lunara in this server in a week, and how many played here again a day, a week and a month later.
Shown from 20 newcomers. The codes used to count them expire after 6 weeks and can’t be deleted sooner. In a breakdown, a number under 20 reads “Fewer than 20”.
- Busy hoursMeasured by Lunara
The hours of the week the server is usually busiest, from Lunara players and voice over the last four weeks.
“Still learning” until 14 days have data.
- Where visitors come fromMeasured by Lunara
The place a visit or a Join press came from: a part of lunarabot.gg, a campaign link, Google, another website, or none.
Read from the link’s own label when it has one, otherwise from the page the visitor came from. In a breakdown, a number under 10 reads “Fewer than 10”.
- Network country (approximate)Measured by Lunara
The country the visitor’s network is registered in, not where the visitor is.
Relays such as iCloud Private Relay show the relay’s country. Countries under 10 visits are folded into “Other”. In a breakdown, a number under 10 reads “Fewer than 10”.
- Browser languageMeasured by Lunara
The first language the visitor’s browser asks for.
Languages under 10 visits are folded into “Other”. In a breakdown, a number under 10 reads “Fewer than 10”.
- Visits by hourMeasured by Lunara
Visits by the hour of the day they happened, in UTC.
Bots, crawlers and link previews are left out, by their browser name and by hosting networks. In a breakdown, a number under 10 reads “Fewer than 10”.
- Search wordsMeasured by Lunara
Words searched for on lunarabot.gg that led to the page. A word shows only once it has 10 or more visits.
Words that could identify someone (numbers, @names, #tags, rude words) are never kept. In a breakdown, a number under 10 reads “Fewer than 10”.
- Directory visitsMeasured by Lunara
Different visitors to the directory on one day, added up over the days shown.
Approximate, for the same reason as visitors. Bots, crawlers and link previews are left out, by their browser name and by hosting networks.
- Directory searchesMeasured by Lunara
Searches made on the directory’s search page.
Bots, crawlers and link previews are left out, by their browser name and by hosting networks.
- MembersFrom Discord
Discord’s approximate member count, shown only as a band such as 250–999.
Read once a night.
- OnlineFrom Discord
Discord’s approximate count of members online, read once an hour and shown only as a band with its time.
Never a list of who is online.
How upvotes are checked
An upvote is held back, kept but not counted, when it comes from a hosting network rather than a home or a phone, when more than 3 people on one network upvote the same page in a day, or when many arrive at once from one network. Phone networks, where thousands of people share an address, are not held for sharing one. A page’s “removed after checks” counts only upvotes a person at Lunara confirmed should not count, for example after organised or bought upvotes were found; held upvotes that are later let through are never counted there. When a server’s appeal against a removal is granted, it gets back only what the removal took.
18+ NSFW servers
Lunara doesn’t list age-restricted servers.
A server Discord marks age-restricted has no page on lunarabot.gg. A listed server that Discord marks age-restricted is unlisted at once; its page and reviews are kept for 30 days, then deleted, unless Discord lifts the restriction first. Lunara has a separate NSFW view, switched off. If Lunara’s team switches it on, these rules apply:
- A server is an 18+ NSFW server when Discord marks it age-restricted, or when it is labelled 18+ NSFW. It is listed only when labelled, and only in the NSFW view, never on the main list, in search for everyone, on a server’s own address or in Discord.
- The view is hidden by default. It opens only for someone signed in with a Discord account at least 30 days old who confirms they are 18 or older, and the choice lasts 30 days. An account Lunara knows to be under 18 can’t open it.
- Its pages are text only: the server’s name, the label, tags and a checked description. No pictures, icons, emojis or events, and no sexual words, on any page.
- An adult on Lunara’s team checks every 18+ NSFW page, and every move into or out of the view.
- Nothing is ever sold for them: no sponsored weeks, and none of the decorations other servers pay for. Search engines are asked not to show them.
- Still refused for every server: anything involving minors, intimate images shared without consent, anything illegal, gambling with real money, cheats, selling accounts, Robux or Nitro, and scams.
- Reports on these pages, their reviews and replies add “This person is under 18” and “Explicit words on this page”. When Lunara’s team agrees that someone is under 18, their review is removed with the reason “The reviewer is under 18”, or their reply is hidden, and their account can no longer open the view. “The content rating is wrong” moves a page into or out of the view.
